What you will discover.

  • Inside of a book with love written in script and brown hands of a woman with gold bangles and henna

    Words.

Stories. Poetry. Devotionals. Prayers. Words connect us to each other, finding shared experiences that help us grow. Through our newsletter, book, blog, and reflections, we use words to express questions and longings about God. Our experiences of God are through the lens of Christianity, however we see God work through a variety of people with differing faiths and beliefs.

  • A woman wearing a red dress is in a field with only her bare white feet and hand are shown like she is dancing

    Images.

The world is full of beauty, both natural and man made. Photographs, paintings, and drawings have a unique ability to share the mix of creation by God and collaboration with the human imagination. Images reflect a moment of time and give a place for restless minds to rest and dream. We use a variety of images to accompany our writing as a part of practicing faith.

  • Two candles are glowing on a table with a blue sky is showing in the background

    Resources.

There is a place within the Christian tradition that many people, including ourselves, have felt lost and alone in. We have created Evergreen to foster community through our conversation guides, bring creative faith practices that can be done without a church, and create a place of rest for weary souls. Our resources are a gentle guide as you reconstruct a faith that is authentic to you.

Evergreen Reflection is for seekers of nourishment and beauty in a chaotic world, who are looking to construct a faith, despite or because of the spiritual wounds we've experienced, that has bearing for our lives in the here and now.

Meet Taylor & Whitney

Taylor Joy Johnson & Whitney Leigh Carlson created Evergreen Reflection to fill a gap they noticed in the Christian tradition that left little room for creative theological exploration. Wanting to make something hopeful and life giving, without being forced into a denominational specific box, their collaboration began. Learn more about our founders on our about page, within our newsletter, and through our blog. They continue to share honest and vulnerable reflections and art based on their lives and what it means to walk in the in-betweens of faith and doubt.
