Like an Evergreen, Hope Continues
Evergreen Reflection was born during a tumultuous time in our founders lives. Wanting something beyond simple answers to hard questions, they found themselves searching for faith based guidance that gave them a safe space to feel, create, and hope even when the cold and damp weighed them down. As a symbol across cultures of life and endurance, the Evergreen emerged a perfect symbol of the space they wanted to hold for others. A space free of judgment and full of welcome, curiosity, and creativity. Through writing and images, Evergreen Reflection gives you a place to start on a journey to reflect on how you want to grow individually and within community. Our work has a spiritual foundation in the Christian tradition, yet we are not aligned with any particular denomination and welcome people of all faiths or no faith at all. Our guiding principle is Love, and we approach life through a lens of hope and wonder. We offer free resources through our monthly newsletter along with our Kickstarter funded Advent book and other artwork to purchase. We invite you to join us as we grow to create a space where people can thrive!

Whitney Leigh Carlson
Taylor Joy Johnson
Taylor Joy Johnson and Whitney Leigh Carlson are cousins through marriage and have been creatively collaborating on projects since 2017, when Whitney volunteered to photograph portraits for some of the families Taylor worked with in the refugee community. This collaboration continued until they created their first book, Poiema: Rediscovering the Art of Advent, their first Evergreen Reflection project together. Taylor has a passion for writing, story-telling, and poetry, and has found most of her creative inspiration from walking alongside her neighbors who continue to reveal the face of God in a thousand forms. Whitney uses photography as a spiritual practice to visually explore the world and how nature and beauty connect to her faith.
